John D. Busi is an Executive Managing
Director of Cushman & Wakefield, responsible for North and South American Operations of Valuation Services within the
Capital Markets Group. Mr. Busi reports directly to the Global Director of the Division and oversees the expanding network
of valuation branches operating within Cushman & Wakefield and C&W Alliance Partner offices. He joined Cushman &
Wakefield in March 1981.
Mr. Busi’s responsibilities include national initiatives and strategies, marketing
and development of new business for the division, managing regional and national appraisal accounts, review and quality control
functions, and the appraisal of investment grade real estate.
Appraisal and consulting assignments have included
regional malls and shopping centers, proposed and existing multi-tenanted office buildings, cooperative, condominium and rental
apartment buildings, feasibility and market studies, vacant land and assemblages, special use industrial properties, developable
air rights, and investment properties throughout the United States. Mr. Busi has also coordinated portfolio appraisals
performed for the F.D.I.C., Con Edison, Verizon, Chase Bank, Northrop Grumman, HSBC Bank, and Citicorp.
In May
1990, Mr. Busi was awarded the MAI designation by the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. Mr. Busi served
as President of the Metropolitan NY Chapter of the Appraisal Institute in 2003 and was a Director of the Chapter from 1995
through 1998 and an officer from 1999 through 2004. From January 1996 to December 1998, Mr. Busi was the Metro NY Admissions
Committee Chairman, responsible for overseeing institute candidates’ fulfillment of admission requirements.
Mr. Busi had been responsible for the NY Chapter’s most successful annual program series — The New York Conference,
traditionally held every September. The series assembled leading NYC real estate developers, brokers, bankers, and politicians
to discuss their perspectives and current issues facing the local real estate market.
James. J. Moran, MAI, CCIM, FRICS serves
as Northeast Area Leader of the Valuation Services Group of Cushman & Wakefield and chairs the Business Practices Committee
for the Valuation Services group. He has 28 years of real estate valuation experience, specializing in commercial properties
on a local, regional, and national level. Property types include: single-tenant, multi-tenant, and corporate headquarters
office buildings; regional malls and shopping centers; hotels and health care facilities; manufacturing and distribution warehouses
and industrial buildings; recreational properties including golf courses and marinas; and various special-purpose facilities,
such as power plants and ice skating rinks. Mr. Moran has also qualified as an expert witness in local, state, and federal
courts in relation to real estate valuation matters.
Mr. Moran is a member of the Appraisal Institute, holding
the recognized MAI designation. He also holds the CCIM designation from the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute
and the FRICS designation of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Mr. Moran is an instructor for the Appraisal
Institute, teaching the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. In addition, he was an Adjunct Associate
Professor at New York University. A certified supervisor by the Office of Policy and Management, Mr. Moran has also
completed several municipal revaluations.
Mr. Moran joined Cushman & Wakefield after founding and operating
Moran & Associates, Inc., a Stamford-based valuation and counseling firm, for nearly 16 years. Prior to that, he
was the New York Managing Director for BA Appraisals, Inc., a BankAmerica Company, and an officer in the Real Estate Appraisal,
Architectural and Engineering division of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, also in New York.
Mr. Moran is the
2006/07 President of the Real Estate Finance Association, and is a member of the Connecticut Appraisal Foundation, a non-profit
organization promoting appraisal education. A graduate of Pace University, he earned his degree in Finance, Accounting,
and Taxation.
