Russel S. Bernard is Managing Principal of Westport Capital Partners, LLC.  Prior to founding Westport Capital in 2005, Mr. Bernard was a Principal at Oaktree and the Portfolio Manager for Oaktree’s real estate funds.  He was responsible for the management of a series of closed-end real estate funds with over $2 billion in total committed capital.  He led a team of professionals who assisted in the investment and management of Oaktree’s real estate portfolio.  Prior to joining Oaktree in 1995, Mr. Bernard was a Managing Director of TCW and Portfolio Manager of the TCW Special Credits Distressed Mortgage Fund.  Prior to his tenure at TCW, Mr. Bernard was a Partner in Win Properties, Inc., a national real estate investment company.  During his eight years with the firm, he was responsible for the acquisition, financing, and operation of a national real estate portfolio.  Before joining Win Properties, Mr. Bernard was with Time Equities, Inc., a New York real estate company, for three years.  Prior to that, he was a Staff Accountant at Price Waterhouse in New York.  Mr. Bernard is the previous Chairman of the Board of Lodgian, a Delaware corporation listed on the American Stock Exchange.  Mr. Bernard holds a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University.

Barry S. Blattman is Managing Partner of Brookfield Asset Management LLC, responsible for business development, relationship management and marketing.  Brookfield is a global asset manager focused on property, power, and other infrastructure assets, with over US$75 billion of assets under management.  Brookfield owns and manages one of the largest portfolios of both premier office properties and hydroelectric power generation facilities as well as transmission and timberland operations, located in North and South America and Europe.  Brookfield manages numerous funds with strategies that include debt, corporate restructurings, opportunistic real estate, and Brazilian shopping centers.
 
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2002, Barry held the title of Managing Director at Merrill Lynch with responsibility, at different points in time, for numerous businesses, including the commercial real estate debt group, the Latin American debt capital markets group, and the structured finance group.  He also served as a senior investment banking relationship manager for the office property client group and for financial institutions, specialty finance companies, and opportunity funds focused on real estate.
 
Barry began his career in 1986 at Salomon Brothers.  He holds an A.B. from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from New York University.  He is a member of YPO and involved with the University of Michigan as both chair of the Organizational Studies Leadership Committee and co-chair of the Barger Leadership Pathways Institute.
