Bruce R. Cohen, in his capacity as
Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of Wrightwood Capital. Mr. Cohen oversees
the firm’s investment activities, portfolio management, new product development, and investor relations.
Wrightwood
Capital is a national real estate finance and investment company, offering a wide range of capital related products.
The company provides an array of structured capital, including high leveraged and mezzanine debt, as well as preferred and
joint venture equity. Over the last 6 years the company has invested in excess of $3.5 billion and currently manages
in excess of $2.0 billion of assets including off balance sheet funds it manages.
Bruce Cohen holds an M.B.A. from
the University of Chicago and a B.A. from Tufts University. He is also a licensed real estate broker in the State of
Illinois. Mr. Cohen is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Real Estate Roundtable, where he is the Vice Chair of
the Real Estate Capital Policy Advisory Committee and serves on the Research Committee.
Mr. Cohen serves on the
Real Estate Advisory Board of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as the Board of
Directors of The Children’s Museum of Chicago and the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago.
Mr. Cohen has
been a guest lecturer at the Harvard Business School, Kellogg Graduate School of Management, University of Wisconsin Graduate
School of Business, and Boston College. He has also been published in The Wall Street Journal, Commercial Property
News, and the Real Estate Finance Journal.
Douglas W. Lyons, 43, is a Managing
Director of Transwestern. Mr. Lyons is responsible for the firm’s capital markets and portfolio management activities
and is a member of the firm's investment and management committees. Prior to joining Transwestern in 1996, Mr. Lyons
was Vice President of Equity Institutional Investors, Inc., where he was responsible for merchant banking activities and strategic
portfolio management projects for the Zell/Merrill Lynch Real Estate Opportunity funds, the Zell/Chilmark Fund, and other
Sam Zell-related affiliates. In addition, Mr. Lyons actively managed an institutional portfolio of REIT stocks.
Previously, he worked in the New York Real Estate Capital Markets groups for Bankers Trust Company (1989-1991) and Merrill
Lynch & Co. (1987-1989). Mr. Lyons earned a B.A. degree in History from Amherst College and his M.B.A. from the
Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. He is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association,
the Urban Land Institute, and the Capital Policy Committee of the Real Estate Roundtable. Mr. Lyons also serves on the
Real Estate Committee for St. James Cathedral in Chicago, and as Trustee for Loomis Chaffee School and Lycée Français
de Chicago.
Steve Plavin is the Chief Operating
Officer of Capital Trust (NYSE: CT), a New York-based mortgage REIT and investment manager. Formed in 1997, Capital
Trust has invested over $10.0 billion in mezzanine loans, B-Notes, subordinate CMBS, and first mortgage bridge loans on behalf
of its shareholders and investors in the CT Mezzanine Partners and other company-sponsored funds.
Mr. Plavin is
responsible for all lending, investing, and portfolio management activities of Capital Trust. Prior to joining Capital
Trust in 1998, Mr. Plavin was co-head of Global Real Estate for The Chase Manhattan Bank and Chase Securities Inc.
Mr. Plavin has a B.A. in English from Tufts University and an M.M. from Northwestern University.
Casey Wold joined Tishman Speyer in
2004 and has responsibility for the Midwest, Atlanta, and Boston regions. He is a member of the Management and Investment
Committees.
Prior to joining Tishman Speyer, he served
as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Trizec Office Properties, a national REIT based in Chicago.
From 1995 to 2001, he served as President of TrizecHahn Office Properties, the U.S. subsidiary of Canadian-based TrizecHahn
Corporation, where he led the development of one of the industry’s premier leasing and property management operations,
spearheading the company’s office property growth strategy throughout North America with transactions totaling more
than 75 million square feet.
Before joining TrizecHahn,
Mr. Wold was an Executive Vice President at Equity Office Properties, heading the acquisition group for nearly eight years.
Prior to Equity Office Properties, he was a principal with The Cambridge Companies, a regional developer in Dallas.
He has also held positions at Wells Fargo and First National Bank of Chicago (BankOne).
Mr. Wold earned a B.S. in finance from the University of Illinois in 1979 and a M.S. in real estate from Southern
Methodist University in 1985.
Nate Stearns is an Executive Director
within the Real Estate Structured Finance division of Macquarie. He oversees the staff within the Representative
Office in Chicago, who are involved in the origination of loans by Macquarie that are intended for securitization in CMBS
transactions. As directed by Macquarie, his group focuses on identifying and underwriting fixed- and floating-rate financing
opportunities for Macquarie, with a focus on commercial property including office, retail, multifamily, student housing, warehouse,
self storage, and hotel properties. They identify these opportunities primarily through a network of professionally-licensed
mortgage brokers throughout the United States. Macquarie Bank Limited’s team of highly experienced commercial
mortgage professionals works with its clients to provide tailored financing solutions and certainty of execution with loan
sizes from $1 million and up.
Nate has over 12 years of experience in the commercial mortgage business. Prior
to joining Macquarie, Nate was Executive Vice President at LaSalle Bank, where he ran LaSalle’s real estate capital
markets division, which was one of the top 10 US CMBS lenders in 2006. He has also worked in the commercial mortgage
backed securities group at Bear Stearns, in New York, and as an associate in the real estate department at the law firm of
Brown Rudnick, in Boston. He currently serves on the CMSA Board of Governors and is the Chair of the MBA’s Capital
Markets Committee.
Nate graduated from Brown University, with a B.A. in Geological Sciences. He also holds
a J.D. summa cum laude from Boston College law school.
