Dr. Peter Linneman is the principal of Linneman Associates
and also serves as the Albert Sussman Professor of Real Estate, Finance, and Public Policy at the Wharton School of Business,
the University of Pennsylvania. A member of Wharton's faculty since 1979, he served as the founding chairman of
Wharton's Real Estate Department, and was the Director of Wharton's Zell-Lurie Real Estate Center for 13 years.
He is the founding co-editor of The Wharton Real Estate Review. His teaching and research focus on real estate
and investment strategies, mergers and acquisitions, and international markets. He has published over 80 articles during
his career.
Dr. Peter Linneman is widely recognized as one of the leading strategic thinkers in the real estate
industry, and was named one of the 25 most influential people in real estate by Realtor Magazine. He is a highly
sought-after speaker, appearing as the keynote speaker at numerous major industry conferences. He is also a co-coordinator/sponsor/moderator
(with Sam Zell) of the prestigious industry roundtable, The Marshall Bennett Classic.
Dr. Linneman holds both Master's
and Doctorate degrees in economics from the University of Chicago. For more than 25 years he has provided strategic
and financial advice to leading corporations, including: American Asset Corp., Sunbelt Management, Lubert-Adler Realty
Funds, Paramount Group, General Electric, Graham Partner, and Avalon Bay Properties.
Dr. Linneman is the founder
and Principal of the American Land Funds, a series of investment vehicles that invests in long-term land developments in high-growth
areas of the US. In addition, he is a partner in the Gerber-Taylor Realty Fund, a series of real estate fund-of-funds.
His quarterly research publication, The Linneman Letter, claims more than 140 leading real estate firms as subscribers.
This publication is widely read throughout the real estate industry, and is viewed as a major thought leader in the business.
His book, Real Estate Finance and Investments: Risks and Opportunities, has been adopted at leading
universities, including Yale, Johns Hopkins, USC, Brown, Columbia, and Wharton, and is the leading reference source for those
interested in real estate finance and investment.
